Major Taylor Cycling Club of Virginia Mission statementThe mission of Major Taylor Cycling Club of Virginia (MTCCVA) is to promote good health by supporting recreational and social cycling activities in our communities. Our membership is open to all, regardless of race, creed, or skill level. We are dedicated to safe and enjoyable cycling with routes offered based off of one's conditioning, while breaking bread, either before, during or after a ride, supporting minority business. We do this with the inspiration from our namesake, Marshall "Major" Taylor, who in 1899, became the 1st African-American World Champion in cycling. | MTCCVA Cycling SeasonMTCCV rides outdoors from March to November with a few special events outside of those months. Our riding territory is mainly Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun, and Prince William Counties (Richmond coming July 2025) with Excursions to California, Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and South Carolina periodically for Major Taylor Regional Events. During the winter, find the Major Taylor VA Zwift club and Ride the Rhythm Thursdays. The Cycling Season opens Mid-March with training rides at Prince William Forest Park and the Washington & Old Dominion Trail. |
